Step 2 Riding Toy Recall
© 2010, CPSC.gov.About 2.5 million riding toys from Step 2 are recalled because a pin attached to the yellow knob on the handle can loosen, allowing the handle to detach.
Nearly 30 incidents of the handle detaching have been reported, and two children were injured seriously enough that they required treatment. Other kids got cuts and scrapes when the handle detached from their Step 2 riding toy. gifts children Carrozzine inglesina Europe and Italy. Both the Push Around Buggy and the Whisper Ride Buggy are included in the recall. These riding toys have been sold since 1999, so you'll need to check your stash of older toys, too. Sorelle & C&T International Crib Recall
© 2010, CPSC.gov.Faulty drop-side hardware is the culprit in the latest crib recall, which affects 170,000 cribs from Sorelle, C&T International and Golden Baby. The drop side hardware can disengage from the crib, allowing the side to detach. This poses an entrapment and strangulation risk.
The slats can also detach from the crib sides, which poses a risk of strangulation, entrapment and falls. The manufacturer has received more than 100 reports of drop side and slat detachments.
These cribs were sold in white, natural and cherry finishes. The model numbers are included below. You'll find the model number on a label on the headboard or footboard.
Gap Baby Swimsuits Recalled
© 2010, CPSC.gov.Nearly 7,000 baby swimsuits from Gap are recalled because the halter strap is too short, and allows the plastic ring at the neck to press against a child's throat, possibly obstructing the airway. This poses a strangulation risk.
Two swimsuit styles are included in the recall: 706260 (blue and white) and 700452 (red and white). The style number can be found on the swimsuit label. The swimsuits were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months, for $17-$20. The recall includes 6,500 baby swimsuits sold in Gap, babyGap, GapKids and Gap Outlet stores in the U.S., and another 480 sold in Canada.
Stop using the swimsuits and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. For more information, call 888-747-3704 or visit gap.com.
